I am an Accountant of Azorean descent. Having lived all of my life in the Merrimack Valley, I graduated from Presentation of Mary Academy in 1982. Later I attended Franklin Pierce University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 2000 and a Masters of Business Administration Degree with a Concentration in Leadership in 2003. In addition to these degrees I obtained a Certificate in Accounting in 1998 and a Certificate in Human Resources in 2003 also from Franklin Pierce University . I hold a Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) through the Internal Revenue Service and I am a member of the American Association of Notaries (AAN), Notary Rotary and the Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS).
I started my career in 2000 as a Business Office Manager. In this role I gained experience in accounts payables, accounts receivables, collections, preparation of yearly, quarterly and monthly reports, forecasting, trending of revenues and budgets and variance reporting.
Now that my children are grown, I am able to concentrate on taxation as a specialty with a focus on client needs and forming business relationships. I enjoy helping clients with tax planning and preparation and making the most of clients' hard work and earnings.
In addition to my education and business experience, I have served as Treasurer of the Portuguese American Holy Ghost Fraternity and the Lawrence Athletic Civic Club from 2006 to 2010 and have been Treasurer of the Sts. Peter and Paul Feast Committee for over 20 years.
In my spare time I enjoy teaching catechism at Corpus Christi Parish and spending time with my family.
